"Making Music on the Carillon” by Jeremy Chesman

“This text introduces all of the technical skills required to play the carillon, teaching them in the context of musical repertoire. Each piece adds one or two new ideas while building on previous skills. This book assumes no previous experience with the carillon but students should be familiar with reading the treble and bass clef, as well as rhythms.”

Dr. Jeremy Chesman was appointed the first University Carillonist at Missouri State University in 2002. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, earning a Master of Music degree in carillon performance. He studied at the Royal Carillon School “Jef Denijn” earning a Final Diploma with Distinction. At the University of Missouri-Kansas City, he graduated with a DMA in organ performance. Dr. Chesman’s primary research interest is music pedagogy.
