Cleveland Prelude

Composer Notes:
The title of the piece refers to the tower in which it was composed and played, Cleveland Tower. Cleveland Tower was designed by Ralph Adams Cram, and was built in 1913. The tower stands as a landmark of the Princeton Graduate College, overlooking the campus and the rolling fields of the golf course that it pours its sound over. The tower holds a carillon of 67 bells played by Lisa Lonie.

Written in the style of a toccata, Cleveland Prelude would be an exciting opener for a concert and certainly would command attention from the audience.

Composer Bio:
John Franek is a student at Westminster Choir College, pursuing a BM in Theory and Composition. He is a pianist and composer and is taking carillon lessons with Lisa Lonie.
