A Collection of Guitar Music for Carillon
A wide variety of music originally written for guitar, and now arranged for carillon. The collection is presented in chronological sequence, according to the composers' birth dates.
Early in 2012, Dennis Curry suggested arranging guitar music for carillon. I selected a few pieces at random and started the experiment. Though personally not a carillonneur, the stage had been set by 60 years as organist, 50 years involvement in classical guitar, attendance at carillon concerts in our bell-rich community, academic background, and a heavy dose of intuition. As new arrangements were prepared, files were emailed to Dennis along with links to audio or video guitar performances. In turn, he pointed the way to the rich history and information on the carillon, and mentored the practical aspects of performance. Each and every piece published has been premiered in concert by him, and recommended edits incorporated in the scores.
